Community Access
Getting out, getting involved, and living life on your terms.
At Artis Support Services, we believe that life happens in the community — not just at home. Whether it’s heading to the markets, joining a local club, or simply grabbing a coffee with a mate, we support you to be out and about, doing the things that make you feel connected and confident.
What is Community Access?
Community Access falls under Assistance with Social and Community Participation in your NDIS plan. It’s about helping you explore interests, meet new people, and build independence — all while having a support person by your side.
What we support
Every person is different, and so is our support. We can help you:
Attend events, appointments or activities
Go to the gym, swimming pool, or fitness classes
Visit the shops, cafés, or local attractions
Catch public transport with confidence
Join social groups or hobby clubs
Volunteer or explore study and employment pathways
Access cultural or faith-based activities
Build confidence in new environments
Whether it’s a structured activity or a spontaneous outing, we’re here to make it happen safely and comfortably.
How it works:
We start by getting to know you — your interests, your goals, and what makes you feel good in the community. Then we match you with a friendly support worker who gets it. Someone who’s not just ticking boxes, but genuinely enjoys being there with you.
You choose what you want to do. We help you get there, be there, and enjoy it.
“Before Artis, I didn’t really leave the house much. Now, I have a regular gym routine, I’ve joined a local jewellery making group. It’s honestly given me purpose and connection.”
Want to get out and about more — but not sure where to start?
Let’s figure it out together. Whether it’s heading to the footy, joining a group, or just feeling more confident at the shops — we’ll match you with someone who genuinely gets you.
There’s no pressure. Just a real conversation about what matters to you and how we can support you to feel more connected and comfortable in your community.
